Running for only three seasons from 2007 - 2009, Gavin and Stacey was a beloved cult classic sitcom written by Ruth Jones and James Corden (yes, that James Corden). 

Gavin and Stacey follows Gavin, an Essex boy, and Stacey, from Barry Island in Wales, who fall in love over long distance business phone calls and get married shortly after meeting up in London. As they come together they bring all of their friends and family with them.

In the 2008 Christmas Special Stacey's friends and family head up from Wales to Essex to all have Christmas at the Shipman's, Gavin's parents. Theres a delicious spread, a punch up, a drunk elderly lady who falls asleep behind the couch, a Christmas sing song, and Uncle Bryn with his mistletoe trying to get a kiss.

Its an absolute delight and one of the most realistic portrayals of what Christmas with extended family and friends can really be like.
