A young woman decides to make positive changes in her life by training for the New York City Marathon.

Brittany (Jillian Bell) has come to the realization that she is the ‘fat friend’ who is always up for a good time with drugs, alcohol, parties and the accompanying debt. Her friends are unsupportive in an wannabe Instagram famous “I’m more important than you” type of way.

To help solve this problem, Brittany decides to start running. Just one block on her first day with the goal of getting to a mile by adding a little more each day. It’s hard work and it’s not all success. Meanwhile, her debt levels are high due to only working low paid jobs on part time hours and partying hard.

Brittany is genuinely funny – this film is absolutely hilarious! It has excellent story arcs with a

body positive message. It has things to teach the viewer about setting goals and achieving them and it’s oddly motivating. I’ve never wanted to jog around the park as much as I did at the end of this film. It’s not about being overweight or “fat” – this film does not fat-shame in any way.

This film deserved a much bigger release than just the film festival circuit. If you can find it, watch it.
