Was little old NZ gonna be left out in the Disney streaming cold? Not at all!!!! Along with the US, Canada, The Netherlands, and Australia Disney Plus will be launching in New Zealand on November 19!!!

Disney+ will be home to a selection of Disney classic films and TV shows as well as Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Fox content like The Simpsons

 

New original content expected on Disney Plus includes The Mandalorian, a live-action Star Wars series created by The Lion King's Jon Favreau with guest director Taika Waititi; a Lady and the Tramp remake; and Marvel series following characters such as Loki, Scarlet Witch and Bucky Barnes.

 

Disney Plus will also be the exclusive streaming home for Disney films released in 2019 and beyond, including Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin and Toy Story 4 and the yet to be released Malefient: Mistress of Evil, Frozen 2, and Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker.

At launch, consumers will be able to subscribe to Disney+ directly or via in-app purchase and start streaming from the following partner platforms and devices (dependent on country):

  • Apple (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV, and fully integrated with the Apple TV app; customers can subscribe to Disney+ via in-app purchase)

  • Google (Android phones, Android TV devices, Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices)

  • Microsoft (Xbox One)

  • Sony / Sony Interactive Entertainment (all Android based Sony TVs and PlayStation®4)

  • Roku (Roku® streaming players and Roku TV™ models)
