how to train your dragon: homecoming

Hiccup and Toothless reunite to remind both their kinds of the inseparable bond between vikings and dragons.

When it becomes clear that the new generation of Vikings doesn't remember the bond between dragon and human, Hiccup sets a plan to celebrate dragons with a grand Snoggletog holiday pageant and gets a heartwarming surprise visit from Toothless for one more adventure.

I don’t think I’ve met a single person that doesn’t LOVE the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. Like Shrek and Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon is a Dreamworks Animation franchise that has captured the imagination and the hearts of the culture.

So it is a welcome return to Berk, Hiccup and all its inhabitants as well as Toothless and his family. The central idea is that Hiccup decides to restart the holiday tradition of Snoggletog - a celebration of the relationship between Vikings and dragons - because he misses Toothless.

Even though it's a simple idea it is a particularly strong one with all the heart and humour you’d expect from How To Train Your Dragon. It is, however, rather a short film and you can’t help being left with the feeling of wanting so much more.

Although it feels more like a holiday special than a film, How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming is a wonderful return to Berk and all the characters we have grown to love.
