The story of the famous musician Michael Jackson, known as the King of Pop.
Michael follows the story of young Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, from the establishment of the Jackson brand, showing the family dynamic of the Jacksons. The film shows us the tense relationship between Michael and his father, Joseph.
Being consumed in his son's success, he saw them as talented money-making machines. Michael wanted to leave the family band and pursue a solo career. Michael may have been different, but knew he had something special.
You will leave this film wanting to dance. Michael encapsulates the story of choosing your own path and choosing to shine your light. I felt the magic.
This biopic was one of the best I’ve seen, starring the singer's nephew Jafaar Jackson's in his first acting role, phenomenally representing the king of pop. What really impressed me with Jackson's performance was that you really are absorbed in the ‘Michaelness’, the choreography and recreation of the original performances was done in an exceptional way. It felt as if you were really watching Michael on the screen. The cinematography is also something that stands out to me, curated in a way that gets the audience engaged, capturing the magic of dance and music.
This film is more than just a tale of how a musician rose to fame; it's a coming-of-age story about discovering love and self-worth, learning when it is important to stand up for yourself and realizing that everyone has something to offer. Michael helped me understand the significance of dance and music in this culture and how those mediums are a universal language that allows us to all share joy. When you leave the theater, you'll feel empowered.
