Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren take on one last terrifying case involving mysterious entities they must confront.
In The Conjuring: Last Rites, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren face one of their most dangerous and personal cases yet. As dark forces close in, they must confront a powerful evil that threatens not only the lives of those around them but also their own faith and relationship, bringing their decades-long battle against the supernatural to a dramatic conclusion
Although I can't really recall seeing any of the previous movies, I'm familiar with the franchise and enjoyed this movie a lot more than I was expecting, Thankfully The Conjuring: Last Rites didn't hold back at all. The narrative was solid and kept me captivated the whole way through. There were also plenty of tense and chilling moments that had me on edge and the horror elements were executed very well.
I appreciated that despite not being overly familiar with the history of the franchise, The Conjuring: Last Rites ties the story up nicely while still standing strong on its own, no prerequisites required to follow along and enjoy this entry into the franchise. It actually made me want to go back and watch the previous films!
The Conjuring: Last Rites was a satisfying and well crafted horror film with a strong narrative and effective scares.
