A group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe.
Who would have thought that the chubby guy from the little known sitcom Parks and Recreation, Zoe Saldana all painted green, an ex WWE wrestler, and two CGI characters would be at the heart of one of the greatest Marvel cinematic universe ventures? Welcome to Guardians of the Galaxy.
Brash space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when he discovers the orb's true power and the cosmic threat it poses, Quill must rally his ragtag group to save the universe.
Everything from the lightness, humorous, an adventurous plot to the perfect casting to the incredible soundtrack makes Guardians of the Galaxy work and work so, so well. It was a massive gamble not just in that the characters were fairly unknown with an unknown director and a largely unknown cast. It helped to paved the way for other lesser known casts, directors, and characters. Out of this galaxy brilliant.
Guardians of the Galaxy will have you grinning from ear to ear and fist pumping as it sweeps you away in this hilarious, highly engaging galactical adventure.
